Cold Seal
Cold seal films are made with a water-based coating to allow sealing at ambient temperature or below for products that may be sensitive to heat. Typical applications include candy and cereal bars, protein bars and nutritional snacks, frozen novelties and confections.
Take the Heat Off of Packaging
Delicate flavors or ingredients sensitive to changes in temperature can be damaged during packaging that requires heat or high-speeds. However, surfaces coated with a cold seal adhesive literally takes the pressure off your operation. Learn more about the specific advantages, below.

Sealability
The uniqueness of cold seal adhesives is that they seal only to themselves with pressure. Cold seal adhesives aren’t tacky to the touch and don’t need a release paper covering to prevent them from adhering to other surfaces before use.
Processing
Without the need to generate heat at startup or dissipate heat at ramp down, the cold seal process can be as much as 10 times faster than heat seal packaging. And if the production line stops for any reason during the cold seal process, heat sensitive products will not be damaged, thereby preventing waste and associated losses.
Safety
The absence of heat also eliminates the risk of burn injuries, providing a safer working environment for employees. Involving only pressure, the cold seal process is fast, safe, and efficient.
